Javier Pescador is a historian and documentary filmmaker. He teaches and does research on sports history, popular culture, leisure and recreational activities in Latinxs communities in the United States, and the history of film and entertainment in American culture. Pescador is the author of various academic books, articles and textbooks on the field. His most recent publications areFair Play? Issues and Trends in Big Time Sports (Kendall 2022) andCampus, Brand & Circus. A Social History of College Sports.Second Edition(Cognella, 2024). Pescador has directed on co-directed documentary films on LBGTQ+ youth, Transgender lives, and Youth in correctional facilities in Michigan, among others.
